reading days

not a buddhist, but dreamt a specific buddha face and decided i would buy when/if i ever found it.
found it here in Devon, preloved, on our first trip.
serendipity.

read: an old favourite for the dark season stretch, and inspired by jen towards essays
taste: tasting local produce at the town market
see: the contentment on a face that turned 42 today
touch: nesting
hear: soft rain
think: of Miss4 starting school on Monday! had planned for November but she was eager
feel: grounded

  1. A beautiful picture and sweet, soulful Buddha. Don't know if you get the "Best of" series I mentioned, but I think you would like the travel writing ones. It doesn't have to be this years--the older ones are good too.

That's wonderful that Miss4 is eager to school.

    Have a lovely weekend!

  2. How delightful that we share the same birth day - although many years apart! lol (am assuming that it meant you!) :) Love the little Buddha, and how it came to you - waiting for you to go to Devon evidently... :) May your days be filled with passion for Life and enrichment of soul and body... 3. Happy birthday Lovely....Hope the move went wonderfully well. Les Miserables, ahhhh, it's been awhile but you are right, it does seem appropriate for the weather around here. Snow tomorrow--eek!
Have a fantastic day celebrating you Mon...

  4. Happy Birthday beautiful boho mamma...How exciting that your little one is starting school already! My how time flies, blink and she'll be 16.
I love the story of how you found your dream Buddha, fascinating. (I have a silver snowflake charm on a necklace - similar dream thing, but took me over 10 years to find it....wonder what it means?)
And glorious local produce, does it get any better?
Happy soft rainy, nesting day from here in Canada, where it is Thanksgiving weekend.
The Golden Notebook... great book (as always ...lovely photo)

  10. how sweet to read,
that you feel you are landing softly in the place for you,
curious about what you feel and think about steiner schools and if you have experience with them from before?
surrounded by alternative education, homeschooling ,noschooling, steiner etc etc and it fascinates me a lot.

  12. I too am not Buddhist fut love buying Buddha figurines on travels, there's something about them that's very calming & makes me feel safe. What you described is truly serendipity, I think it's a sign of some kind. :)
We're hearing rain a lot too, I'm very content as long as me or anyone else from my family doesn't have to leave home, only because it gets dirty & also flooded soon.
