read: lots of art for kids type blogs
taste: we made our own bread together
see: into the silence, how you'll find me in about 15 years time
touch: talking deodorants with a friend, she hadn't realised that Tom's of Maine has been owned by Colgate since 2006, and not all ingredients are natural. also read this. simple - if a natural product has become super popular, keep up-to-date about it
hear: if i should have a daughter, sarah kay on TED
think: how sometimes the very thing you railed against, or never considered a part of your Self, is the very thing that turns it all around for you, for the better
feel: all soft and loving, for sharing in this
And over at HM for this week's joy pockets.
Disappointing about Tom's of Maine, isn't it. Concerned about the hazardous ingredients in most commercial deodorants I've been using deodorant less, and have been trying baking soda (bicarb) mixed with a little arrowroot. It works! But very much enjoying your celebration of the senses today, Monica :o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))
ReplyDeletei now use another brand that is really good, both in how effective it is, and the companies credentials - so far! forget what it's called...
DeleteThat Sarah Kay piece is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGreat links...that Sarah Kay video is outstanding.
ReplyDeletegood stuff isn't it
Deletelet me know how your such for "art for kids" blogs go. i'm doing research and would love to compare notes.
ReplyDeletenice wrap up to your week. I absolutely love baking bread at this time of year. And missing my girl helping with her little hands all floury...they grow up too fast - enjoy!
ReplyDeletepeace
it's such fun
DeleteGlad there is an "opening" for you in your "thinking." So true. I experienced an "opening" in my Heart this week. And tears for the "Danny and Annie" video... Yes, soft and loving - sigh - more heart opening... And curiosity about "Into the Silence..."

ReplyDeletelove and light
loved the photos of into the silence, a way of life that is very easy to picture myself in, once the kids are older.
ReplyDeleteI've never fallen for Tom's of Maine, or any of the other "natural" companies. All one needs to do is read the ingredients list to know there is nothing natural about them. I make everything myself. If it doesn't come from nature, I refuse to use it.
going to check out the TED talk, have a lovely weekend!
yeah, it'll be like - enjoy college, i'm off to the hills! lol
DeleteDid not know that about TOMS.
ReplyDeleteCan you rec. another brand?
i use 'salt of the earth' deodorant spray. as far as i know - not chemicals, no aluminium, no fragrance, not tested on animals. works great for me too.
DeleteI create handcrafted natural body products soaps, salts, serums, tonics etc.... It is a passion. I was already preparing natural deodorant for my own personal use, now I think I might master it and add it to my line. I did not realize this about Tom's. Wonderful Photo. Wonderful insight
ReplyDeleteand it's so much fun too. i used to, but now just try to support ethical companies and make cleaning products for the home. soooo much cheaper than store bought!
Deletewhere is this secret, mysterious lush gate? and where does it lead to? perhaps to a decision made. can only hope so. wishing you luck and strength with it. would love to watch this ted thing now, but almost about to leave for the bus down to babylon and to work....hmmmm...
ReplyDeleteI came here to say hello, and lost half an hour to your links. Thank you for a small adventure!

Oh, I can relate to the hermit mentality. Since my kids have grown and flown the coop, I am a recluse extraordinaire. ;-) I use Earth Science Lichen deodorant. Tom's gave me an allergic rash years ago, and I gave up on the brand after the buyout anyway.
ReplyDeletea sweet little cave lined with books... not much to ask for... lol
DeleteOh my, so many goodies in this post!! Loved Sarah Kay, and I sprung watery eyes on the last link...Knew that about Tom's, so sad..and their products reflect what's happened to them too..
ReplyDeleteglad to see joy pockets back!!!
hope you are having a lovely weekend Mon
XO
I love the sound of Into the Silence hermitage. I must look up more about them.
ReplyDeleteDannie and Annie were wonderful.
