Regularly falling into the silence behind all things.

crumbs

i'm a dotcom now.
i just like the name really and didn't want it taken.

miss 4 has been ill with a chesty cough and fever this last week.
then Husband decided to slice his hand open and earn 10 stitches and unable to work.
i experienced an af crisis, that kicked off a spiritual one.
it hasn't been dull.

3 stars for the world to come

my about page was not live, 'tis now, slightly updated.
did you see my raven link mel?

erin's photo mirrors my psyche last week.

my labels in the sidebar are now displayed by either
INK: art, writing, studies, books....
or
Chai: spirit, astrology, psyche, tea...

we visited canterbury

i discovered that my father-in-law owned 3 vintage cameras, including one like this.
then i discovered that my mother-in-law had thrown them out years before in a gesture of passive-aggressiveness.
we all mourned differently.

very inspiring blogger award from the very creative Ludid
thank you

needing rest and daydreams, i'm watching films while miss4 naps.
in order of enjoyment;
sense and sensibility, balzac and the little chinese seamstress, the scarlet tunic, vicky cristina barcelona, women talking dirty, the end of the affair, it's complicated.

strange to be away from my sweet place here.
not yet ready.
but I wanted to touch base and say hi to my friends and new visitors.

  2. goodness, Monica, I hope you're all on the mend and feeling better. Have missed your voice. Love the changes made in your own space.

I'm wondering...is there something going on in the stars? I've noticed that most bloggers, including myself, have gone quiet.

  4. Everything looks and sounds good, except for the fact that you are all ailing/injured. Glad you are getting rest and movies and cozy family time. I like your about page! As an armchair traveler, I am so impressed by and interested in you roamings. Thanks for the movie recommendations--will be looking for Sense and Sensibility. Take care. xo, Jen

  9. Have been poking around in "psyche" (yours that is :) under Chai. Blew me away actually - the photos, the simplicity of your words that describes what I also experience - very moving...

Hope you share about your "spiritual crisis" as well, at some point.

I think I may be moving through the latest AF crisis. Every day is different. Thanks for the link to that...

    BE well... Christine

  13. Wow, so much happening for you. I love that you're enjoying your .com! A simple joy to see your much loved blog named "up in permanent lights" so to speak. I still look at mine and love it. I do hope you all feel better soon. I didn't crochet the cute dog in my blog post, my husband bought it for me - late last year I thought to myself "I'm legally blind and sewing my head piece for a fancy dress party, awesome!". Minutes later I realised why it was so difficult - I was pushing the blunt end through plastic and pressing my thumb into the sharp end. Ouch! No... sewing and fiddly work not so good for me! That's ok, there's plenty of other things to enjoy. :p

  14. Glad you nabbed the .com name; I've always loved it. Sorry to hear about your family's recent illness/injury...and your adrenal fatigue (I struggle with it, too - one of the many curses of insomnia).

Oh, my - the camera loss would be tough for me to take, too!

Really, really love the photos, and you've given me some new movies to put on the list!

  23. Congratulations on your dot comness Monica! I love your wee bit of a reshuffle, the blog looks lovely!

I have been watching films a lot recently too. You feel like you've given your brain a treat, but there is little effort involved. It's a lovely way to rest. Also I think part of the seasons changing.
