i'm a dotcom now.
i just like the name really and didn't want it taken.
•
miss 4 has been ill with a chesty cough and fever this last week.
then Husband decided to slice his hand open and earn 10 stitches and unable to work.
i experienced an af crisis, that kicked off a spiritual one.
it hasn't been dull.
•
3 stars for the world to come
•
my about page was not live, 'tis now, slightly updated.
did you see my raven link mel?
•
erin's photo mirrors my psyche last week.
•
my labels in the sidebar are now displayed by either
INK: art, writing, studies, books....
or
Chai: spirit, astrology, psyche, tea...
•

we visited canterbury
•
i discovered that my father-in-law owned 3 vintage cameras, including one like this.
then i discovered that my mother-in-law had thrown them out years before in a gesture of passive-aggressiveness.
we all mourned differently.
•
very inspiring blogger award from the very creative Ludid
thank you
•
needing rest and daydreams, i'm watching films while miss4 naps.
in order of enjoyment;
sense and sensibility, balzac and the little chinese seamstress, the scarlet tunic, vicky cristina barcelona, women talking dirty, the end of the affair, it's complicated.
•
strange to be away from my sweet place here.
not yet ready.
but I wanted to touch base and say hi to my friends and new visitors.
i just like the name really and didn't want it taken.

Missed you :)... sorry to hear about the af crisis, but glad the spiritual was there to help you through..
ReplyDeleteLoooooove your about page ...
btw, that university I've been poking around here, has contemplative education and contemplative psychotherapy schools, you know, if you ever feel like crossing the pond for some studying
that camera (gasp)....
XO
the camera! you feel it too i know!
Deletenever heard of contemplative education, of course i'm intrigued. :)
goodness, Monica, I hope you're all on the mend and feeling better. Have missed your voice. Love the changes made in your own space.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering...is there something going on in the stars? I've noticed that most bloggers, including myself, have gone quiet.
i wonder if it's that Scorpio NN? certainly an introspective sign.
DeleteIt has certanly not been dull! I wish you all get well soon
ReplyDelete(and thank you particularly for the af information)
hugs xoxoxo
i never mention it but realised of course that others might benefit from the info.
DeleteEverything looks and sounds good, except for the fact that you are all ailing/injured. Glad you are getting rest and movies and cozy family time. I like your about page! As an armchair traveler, I am so impressed by and interested in you roamings. Thanks for the movie recommendations--will be looking for Sense and Sensibility. Take care. xo, Jen

ReplyDeleteyour life has been full. hope you're all on the mend, physically and spiritually :)
ReplyDeleteHave been poking around in "psyche" (yours that is :) under Chai. Blew me away actually - the photos, the simplicity of your words that describes what I also experience - very moving...
ReplyDeleteHope you share about your "spiritual crisis" as well, at some point.
I think I may be moving through the latest AF crisis. Every day is different. Thanks for the link to that...
BE well... Christine
thank you. you made me return to my old words, and with that distance one can find solace there. :)
DeleteI do like your new blog look, it is clean and fresh, and the font is SO much easier to read (I think I may need new glasses). Hope Miss 4 is on the mend and that Husbands hand heals quickly. Take care. x
ReplyDeletetruth be told, i miss my courier font. but yes, this one is easier for visitors.
Deleteoh dear I hope Miss is feeling better soon, and that the hand heals, 10 stitches - eek that is some slice.....
ReplyDeletelove the look, but maybe it's just me being impossibly tired but I'm finding the pink links really hard to read......
i'll pump up the colour for you.

love and light
thank you. we're getting there. and i'm on the emotional upswing.
DeleteWow, so much happening for you. I love that you're enjoying your .com! A simple joy to see your much loved blog named "up in permanent lights" so to speak. I still look at mine and love it. I do hope you all feel better soon. I didn't crochet the cute dog in my blog post, my husband bought it for me - late last year I thought to myself "I'm legally blind and sewing my head piece for a fancy dress party, awesome!". Minutes later I realised why it was so difficult - I was pushing the blunt end through plastic and pressing my thumb into the sharp end. Ouch! No... sewing and fiddly work not so good for me! That's ok, there's plenty of other things to enjoy. :p
ReplyDeleteouch!
Deleteheck, i figured you took photos, you probably could pull yarn together into cute doggies too! lol
Beautiful. All of it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you nabbed the .com name; I've always loved it. Sorry to hear about your family's recent illness/injury...and your adrenal fatigue (I struggle with it, too - one of the many curses of insomnia).
ReplyDeleteOh, my - the camera loss would be tough for me to take, too!
Really, really love the photos, and you've given me some new movies to put on the list!
xx
yep, sleep is so vital for recovery, yet it's exactly what we struggle with!
DeleteI was wondering about the quiet, missed you, hope all is on the mend physically. The spiritual ride seems to always be fluid for me, with a few crises!
ReplyDeleteI love your .com simplicity and thanks for the 'contemplative' link.
Off to Dorset this weekend, the sun is meant to be shining, hope yours is a good one :~)xxxx
we're off to devon next week. let the sun keep on shinin'!
DeleteGosh, sorry to hear about al your travails. I hope that you are feeling better. I see that you're off the Devon - have a WONDERful time
ReplyDeletethanks. my heart Home, looking forward to it.
DeleteWellness and happy blessings to you & yours, Monica ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping in to say hi. Sounds like you had an adventurous time... Enjoy the rest of ride ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful to have your own domain - way to go! I've been missing regular visits here, and was inspired by your "about" page.
ReplyDeleteHope things are better soon - sorry to hear of your little one feeling sick and the whole hand slicing episode must have been awful.
Congrats on your award - you are very deserving of it.
let's see how we all settle in after the summer :)
Delete"we all mourned differently" - I don't know why, but that sentence stood out to me, and I can't help but read it over and over. It's beautiful...
ReplyDeleteHope the husband and little one get better. Have a wonderful weekend!
xx
thank you for your powers of observation. it's nice to know one's writing is not lost.
DeleteThanks for sharing these morsels of your life with us....
ReplyDeleteLove the new dot com.
Sorry to hear about your husband slicing his hand!

ReplyDeleteTake care of those adrenals. I know you will.
So glad you dotcommed.
It is a wonderful name and it deserves to stand on it's own.
Hugs,
C
Congratulations on your dot comness Monica! I love your wee bit of a reshuffle, the blog looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have been watching films a lot recently too. You feel like you've given your brain a treat, but there is little effort involved. It's a lovely way to rest. Also I think part of the seasons changing.
