“If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough.”
Meister Eckhart
“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not;
remember that what you have now was once among the things
you only hoped for.”
Epicurus
“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life
is the foundation for all abundance.”
Eckhart Tolle
i.e, the foundation is not 'intention' towards other/more.
“Most people's lives are run by desire and fear.
Desire is the need to add something to yourself in order to be yourself more fully.
...
These two movements obscure the fact that Being cannot be given or taken away.
Being in its fullness is already within you, Now.”
Eckhart Tolle
Sing it with me!
“No, you can't always get what you want
No, you can't always get what you want
No, you can't always get what you want
But if you try sometime,
you just might find
You get what you need”
Rolling Stones
Happy weekend friends: loving what you have, where you are, who you're with. At the very least trusting it's what you need.
love it!! absolutely perfect....and you really can't go wrong quoting Meister Eckhart and Mick Jagger in the same post..
ReplyDeletehappiest of week's ends to you...i shall be basking in the brilliance of now.
xoxo
I'm with Mel. Reading this was a great way to start my Friday. Thanks!
ReplyDeletewelcome!
DeleteThese quotes are a lovely and thoughtful way to end the week - have a great weekend Monica
ReplyDeletelove, love, love this!! happy weekend, Monica :)
ReplyDeletei'm not sure it speaks to what you've posted directly but it does speak to the perfection that exists inside our lives if we allow it to be seen. this, and i think you will appreciate it. ruth brought it by my place, an excerpt by annie dillard:
ReplyDeleteAt a certain point, you say to the woods, to the sea, to the mountains, the world, Now I am ready. Now I will stop and be wholly attentive. You empty yourself and wait, listening. After a time you hear it: there is nothing there. There is nothing but those things only, those created objects, discrete, growing or holding, or swaying, being rained on or raining, held, flooding or ebbing, standing, or spread. You feel the world's word as a tension, a hum, a single chorused note everywhere the same. This is it: this hum is the silence. Nature does utter a peep - just this one. The birds and insects, the meadows and swamps and rivers and stones and mountains and clouds: they all do it; they all don't do it. There is a vibrancy to the silence, a suppression, as if someone were gagging the world. But you wait, you give your life's length to listening, and nothing happens. The ice rolls up, the ice rolls back, and still that single note obtains. The tension, or lack of it, is intolerable. The silence is not actually suppression: instead, it is all there is.

I needed this! thank you!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate what you have posted today. These words are so true and I believe in every word that is written here. When there was some confusion in my life, I realized that I have been given everything that I need already. This realization slows down a restless mind and helps one to be at peace.
ReplyDeleteYes, how much more, how much "extra" do we need to feel peaceful ? It is only our restlessness that needs something extra to enrich our life.
We are already abundant and believe me, we don't even recognize let alone explore that abundance, and we keep searching for/jumping on to something else.
Thank you for sharing these pearls of wisdom with us.
have a nice day !
it's just so amazing how much time is wasted on future-thinking, isn't it?
DeleteI add my little thank you to this list, as always I find your words soothing, relaxing and re-assuring.
