Fact is, sometimes it's time for a more internal focus. (and of course there's that whole misdirected desire for change going on)
During Mercury retrograde (until 8th Aug), anything related to study, communications, or quick travels, is going to do well at the thinking stages. Focus on plans rather than actually starting new projects, settling on decisions, or making bookings/purchases.

Make sketches, collate your notes, scribble out ideas, revise learning, organise, chart a route, make a list of wishes/ideas, push pins into a map, organise, delete unwanted bookmarks and emails, clear out cupboards, read, watch films, sort through old magazines, arrange the donations and recycling, do research, take more nights in, study at home, back-up data, and imagine.
You get the idea.
Importantly, sort out the clutter in your head - just leafing through and throwing out what is not serving your true purpose. In this period especially, rid yourself of confused thoughts connected to; love, children, creativity, expression, and aspirations. Or if there has been a lot going on in those areas, leave off thinking about them for now. Give your head and heart a break.

read: I've made very, very good friends with Evernote, also available as an apptaste: popcorn
see: old episodes of my so-called life
hear: awkward, san cisco
think: of which book to borrow at the library today
feel: more centred
this is the guidance I needed! excellent advice, thank you. :)
ReplyDelete(omg - my so-called life!! brings me back to awkward school days)
it came out in the 90's, past my school years but still loved it, and still good now! lol
DeleteWise words ..... sharing with friends .....
ReplyDelete& 'my so-called life' - yay!! I could use some quiet 'me time' on a rainy day, watching back to back episodes on Hulu [with popcorn!] ;-)
it was such an intelligent show, and even better when you're no longer in those angsty years heehee
Deleteuntil the 8th of August?????? can we speed this up a little???? otherwise very good advice :)
ReplyDeletelol
Deletepreparation is good too ;)
That's really good advice and I'm taking it to heart. PS - So glad you found Evernote. That program and app are the bomb!
ReplyDeleteutterly brilliant stuff right!? i found it quite some time ago but never made use of it. have now found two great reasons, and having it on the phone makes it super useful.
DeleteWow, this is so cool. I am doing this, all of this, right now. Cleaning out old email boxes and saved emails, organizing bookmarks, reading and more reading, watching documentaries, finishing up my desk wall, thinking thinking thinking about courses next fall...
ReplyDeleteHave evernote, but am not quite using it yet...
One more thing...I LOVE THAT SONG!!!
Thanks Mon
xo
so sounds like you're in the groove of this energy, intuitively. :)
Deletecurious about that desk wall.
i dig quirky songs like that.
I have a notebook that has been used for several different things over the last year - an astrophysics class, a financial accounting class, favorite lines from books I'm currently reading, my daughter's doodles & my random thoughts that I feel like jotting down. This reminded me to organize it. I'm anxious just thinking about how much of a wreck it is.
ReplyDeleteone bit at a time. and perfect time for it!
DeleteInteresting--I really like your suggestions, and they are appropriate to me right now!
ReplyDeleteI loved My So Called LIfe.
it was such a fun and poignant show wasn't it?
DeleteI'm thrilled to have been found by you! I appreciate your heartfelt writing and truly look forward to following. Thanks in advance for your words.
ReplyDeletegood to see you here, welcome :)
Deleteumm, are you inside my head?! lol
ReplyDeleteHave so many dreams and plans I'm trying to reign in and study/ plan for a bit more before I jump in head first!
not easy to wait huh? but the planning stage can make a ton of difference.... i reassure myself ;D
Deleteah yes.....thank you. always up for a good declutter...;)
ReplyDeletei used to LOVE my so-called life...i'll have to catch up with those old episodes...
xo
ok, ok. I'll clean up and clear out. :)
ReplyDeleteso funny, it sounds like my life most of the year. I'm on a constant de-clutter/organizing/planning routine. I think it's because I secretly enjoy it! (purging is so cleansing!)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny....I declutter my house all the time. Clutter and I are not friends. And yet there can still be so many distractions, and I find that my mind is much more difficult to keep clear. I try to take ten minutes every day to sit in silence, but that can be tough too. It's important, though, and if it's important, you find a way.
