keeping it real

“The poet was a fool
who wanted no conflict
among us, gods
or people.
Harmony needs
low and high,
as progeny needs
man and woman.”

Heraclitus, Fragments

lows

i did well, i think, not catching her drawn-out cold, but with lack of sleep, it finally caught up with me
the heartbreaking guilt of hearing her role-play my impatient tone
running out of chocolate
lack of sleep
funding still not coming through, arrrrgh
severe exhaustion that brings on tears

highs

'morning misty' light
2hrs of me time
discovering a london fog (c/o bohomom)
(my version of) intermittent fasting working out really well for me
making a decision about schooling for Miss 3
finding a forgotten rich hand-cream sample pack
getting some sketching done
thanks so much to nancy for the sunshine award
a phenomenal psychological-spiritual-artistic project idea
instagram on android - find me as bohomon or at followgram
the ironic thrill that even sleep-deprivation doesn't stop ideas coming

  1. I remember the first time my daughter mimicked my behavior during role-playing. It wasn't a good feeling. The "London Fog" sounds yummy!!

Hope you're feeling better, and the funding comes through soon!!

    1. it's like, you know you're doing it, you hate that you're doing it, but hearing back through their sweet voice makes it crystal clear real.

anyway, at a better place today.

  2. Hey, Mon! I took your idea- I think it's so important to "keep it real". So, here is my post: http://sadiedear.blogspot.com/2012/04/all-things-keep-time-with-season.html
BTW: London Fog? So that's what it's called! I drank something like that off and on, depending on my mood, through the years I worked in a coffeehouse. Earl Grey is good for depression, you know. Mmmmmm.

  5. "the heartbreaking guilt of hearing her role-play my impatient tone"

been there. drop the guilt and then you can just hear it and make the change. I can only say this because i shed tears over something similar this week.

hugs and love to you this week. love your candor, girl.

  6. I got sick the first time I heard my little use my tone while role-playing, beat myself up for a while (but I do that) and the exhaustion breakdown had me one of those this week. I am glad you are doing better today.

"a phenomenal psychological-spiritual-artistic project idea" oh yeah!!
I am also excited for instagram on android and now follow you :)

  7. Sleep deprivation is so hard. Last week, I actually got to bed before midnight twice and managed seven hours of sleep, and it made such a difference to my day. Tears and exhaustion for me go hand in hand too! Would love to take part in your highs and lows - do you do it on Fridays?
